1970 March 14 NIT Basketball Tournament Program- Julius Erving College Game- Duke vs. Utah and Marquette vs. Massachusetts- NrEx unscored, some light toning, Marquette defeated UMass 62-55 on their way to the NIT title. Al McGuire turned down the NCAA invitation due to his unhappiness with his team’s placement in the tournament. Marquette went on to win the NIT this year.
